Free installation of comprehensive security for Sole Traders, Micro & SME Businesses throughout
Government figures suggest nearly one in five businesses suffers a major disruption every year. Further research suggests 80% of businesses affected by a major incident close down within 18 months, and 90% of those who lose their data are forced to close down within two years.
It is in everyone’s interest to have as many businesses protected as possible. This initiative has been designed to make professional monitored security and insurance affordable to almost every business, whether that is a small café in a village, an office above a high street or on a business park, shops in town centres or on parade on a housing estate or someone’s workshop or a factory at the edge of town. Each of these businesses and the people they employ has the right to be as secure as we can make them.
It is a sad fact that huge numbers of SME businesses are under insured and not properly protected. The majority of small and micro businesses choosing to purchase the cheapest insurance rather than cover that offers their business the best chance of recovery should the worst happen. The most recent study of why this is found two main reasons; 1, owners of small businesses purchased their insurance using similar criteria they use when buying the personal insurances where cost rather than cover was the most important consideration. 2, even when they tried to purchase more suitable cover insurers would insist that they installed security measures that were outside of their financial capabilities.
In a recent poll of SME insurance brokers all confirmed that in over 30% of cases they were unable to cover what the businesses had requested because the business did not have the security that the insurers required. When these brokers were asked what the businesses did then all suggested that the business simply went without the insurance and the security they really needed.
Working with the UK’s major SME insurers, various Government Departments and almost all of the associations and federations serving British industry and commerce the BCRU have introduced a range of security that is affordable to every business. Its installation is free so there are no capital costs to meet. This means that insurers are able to offer SMEs better cover at more affordable rates.
Making the entire Monitored range of security free to install means that more businesses can afford to have good quality monitored security which in turn means they can buy the insurance they need and want.
Businesses can apply for the free installation of one of the Monitored range by clicking on the ‘Apply Now’ button above and to the right, or they can speak with their local Business Crime Reduction Manager, Crime Prevention Office, Insurance Broker, Chamber of Commerce or Federation of Small Business, or preferred you can speak to someone at the BCRU by calling the number at the top of the screen.
The Monitored range offers far more functionality than a burglar alarm; ‘lone worker’ support, smoke detection, leak and flood detection all helps you manage your business more effectively, why not spend some time reading through the various pages by clicking the links above.
